On May 29, 2012 the new (SAM) System for Award Management started replacing the (CCR) Central Contractors Registration the (FedReg) Federal Agency Registration (ORCA) Online Representations and Certifications and the (EPLS) Excluded Parties List System.
All the above will migrate into SAM.

What is SAM?

The System for Award Management (SAM), will combining eight federal procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance into one new system. Integration of these systems will improve the accuracy of data used throughout the federal procurement process by eliminating multiple reporting databases. SAM will provide more concise federal spending information and save the federal government and tax payers money by eliminating the maintenance costs of multiple systems.

When will SAM start?

On May 29, 2012 the new government's (SAM) System for Award Management will start migrating the (CCR) Central Contractors Registration the (FedReg) Federal Agency Registration (ORCA) Online Representations and Certifications and the (EPLS) Excluded Parties List System into SAM.

How will SAM be better?

The benefits of SAM will include streamlined and integrated processes, elimination of data redundancies, and reduced costs while providing improved capability.
