Marketing Personal Identification Number (MPIN)


The MPIN (Marketing Partner Identification Number) is a personal password code that allows you to access government applications such as the Past Performance Information Retrieval System (PPIRS) and others, and you should safeguard it. Your company selects and registers the MPIN in System for Awards Management (Sams).

To find or create your company's MPIN:

1. Go to the  (SAM) System for Award Management.
2. Enter your user
ID and password, then click the "Log In" button.
3. Select "View" across from the DUNS number you are looking for.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the Points of Contact to view your MPIN.

The Marketing Partner ID Number ( MPIN ) is mandatory for SAM registrants and contains nine characters:
At least one letter (upper or lower case) and one number.
No spaces or special characters are permitted.

If you change your MPIN, be aware that it may take 24-48 hours for other government systems to recognize your new MPIN. If no change is necessary,

The Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN) is a 9-character code containing at least one alpha character and one number (no special characters or spaces).

The MPIN is created, by you, in your company’s SAM record and acts as a password for various government systems.

The MPIN is the last data field in the “Points of Contact” section of the SAM registration. Once you’ve entered your new MPIN into SAM , it will become active when your SAM registration becomes active.

The MPIN must have 9 digits, containing at least one alpha character and one numeric character.
(no spaces or special characters permitted).
