DIBBS - Internet Explorer Version 7 and 8 Certificate Installation.

If you are having trouble accessing Dibbs using Internet explorer 7 or 8 It could be because of a Certificate problem. If that is the issue the below department of defense certificates and download procedures should help.

Internet Explorer Version 7 and 8 Certificate Installation procedures.

DIBBS uses DoD Root CA 2 but the Dibbs team recommends installing all DoD certificates for uses with other DoD web sites.

First Go to:
http://dodpki.c3pki.chamb.disa.mil/rootca.html

To Download Department of Defense (DOD) / DIBBS website certificates:

• Right click on the link: "Download Class 3 Root CA Certificate." and save to a temporary location such as your desktop.

• Right click on the link: "Download Root CA 2 Certificate." and save to a temporary location such as your desktop.

• Right click on the link: "Download External Certification Authority (ECA) Root CA Certificate." and save to a temporary location such as your desktop.

Installation of DOD Certificates:

From the browser’s top level menu, Select "Tools" - “Internet Options…”

Select "Content” tab - “Certificates”

Select “Trusted Root Certificates Authorities" tab and press the “Import…” button.

Press the “Next” button.

Press the “Browse…” button.

Select storage area (Desktop or temporary folder) of previously downloaded certificates.
Select the certificate file to import and click on the open button.

Press the “Next >” button.

Select "Place all certificates in the following store" and press “Next >” button.

Press “Finsh” button.
If you receive warnings, press “Yes” and continue.

Upon completion, “Import was successful.” Should appear.

Important:
Repeat Import Step for Each Certificate.
 

Verify Certificate Installations:

On the “Internet Options” Screen, select "Content” tab and “Certificates" once again.

Select the “Trusted Root Certificates Authorities" tab and scroll down until you see “DoD Root CA 2”.

The new or updated certificates should be displayed. If not, repeat the import.
