Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS)

DFARS stands for Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement.

The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement - DFARS provides Department of Defense implementation and supplementation of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The DFARS contains requirements of law, DoD-wide policies, delegations of FAR authorities, deviations from FAR requirements, and policies / procedures that have a significant effect on the public.

Relevant procedures, guidance, and information that do not meet the criteria for inclusion in the DFARS are issued in the DFARS companion resource, Procedures, Guidance, and Information  PGI. Unclassified, non-confidential memoranda, guidance, and other DPAP procurement-related policy documents can be found in the appropriate PGI subpart.

When is DFARS compliance required?

It is required when your Government customer requires it of you.
